the person might just want to cover up him/herself,
he/she might just want to persuade him/herself and others that he/she is happy.

the devil does not usually show up,
the devil will only be reflected from a person's emotions.
The devil contributes personal problems to everyone,
some people will show their 'devils' out to others,
some people will just choose to cover their 'devils' up and try to avoid it.
